First established in Shetland in 2013, by Campbell Johnson, CW Johnson’s plant-hire and contracting company, has grown rapidly in recent years.
Customers range from small independent clients and private house builders to large corporations, such as SSE and Morgan Sindall.
At the age of 16, Campbell was driven by a childhood interest for diggers and construction: inspired by a relative, He soon gained a very good reputation for his standard of work. The company now has over 55 staff and he continues to expand and progress the company.
Campbell is highly regarded by all his team, and is known for his dedication to the job – and for working long hours or overnight shifts to ensure projects are completed on time.
Customers are always top priority: as a result, the team do whatever it takes to get the job done to the customer’s satisfaction.

RENEWABLE ENERGY
We are proud to be part of Shetland’s growing renewable sector and its evolution.
So far we have been involved with a large part of the SSE Viking Wind Farm and all connections. We have been at the forefront of many projects within the isles.
HOUSING AND INFRASTRUCTURE
We are keen to support new housing developments across Shetland and provide assistance when required.
We help dig founds and drainage along with utility channels. We organise concrete pours and help with design of driveways and car parks.
COMMUNITY COMMITMENTS
Our local roots remain at the heart of our work. We always have a dedicated team to work on private jobs.
